Start Home Buying Process Early with a Trusted Lender
If your goal in 2018, or anytime in the future, is to purchase a home then it is never too early to get started. Starting early with a trusted lender is a great way to be prepared so we asked one of our trusted lenders; Matthew McGuire with Supreme Lending to tell us more about this:
What is the best way to approach financing and buying a house? Great question!
There is a Bible verse that I recall that I think is applicable. This is from The Message’s rendering of Luke 14:28. “Is there anyone here who, planning to build a new house, doesn’t first sit down and figure the cost so you’ll know if you can complete it? If you only get the foundation laid and then run out of money, you’re going to look pretty foolish. Everyone passing by will poke fun at you: ‘He started something he couldn’t finish.’
I have the privilege everyday of helping people purchase a home for their family. In fact, I often say and truly believe everyone can be a homeowner. Some are ready now and some need a little guidance to get on the track of home ownership. The great thing is everyone wants to provide a home for their family. Often the process begins with the homeowner finding the home they want to purchase 1st then contacting a real estate agent and lender to help them figure out how to purchase the home. While we are always glad to help, they can often end up overpaying for the home or end up feeling frustrated and defeated. There is a better way!
A mortgage today is a complex tool that can be used in many ways to not only provide housing, but also build wealth and invest in real estate. The sooner you contact a trusted mortgage lender in the process the better! A recommendation from your real estate agent is a great place to start.
There are numerous benefits to starting early in the process with a trusted lender and putting time on your side. Here are a few of them:
- Pay less for the home. –Price is not always the deciding factor in an offer being accepted. We can often offer a 2 week closing which can equate to big savings.
- Close faster. –By completing the loan approval in the beginning, the process is simple and quick once you find a home.
- Improve credit and qualify for a lower rate. –By starting early we can identify any items on the credit report that may need attention and assist in improving your credit score which directly impacts interest rates and your cost of ownership.
- Reduce the offers made. -When a strong offer is made with a trusted local lender’s approval this often helps put your offer above others. A personal call from the lender can make the difference in the acceptance of your offer over another higher offer.
- Save time by looking at only homes you are qualified for.
- Make the most of your assets. Creating a plan to leverage low mortgage rates may allow you to invest and build wealth faster.
