Take a Tour – Historic Downtown McKinney
If you have visted Historic Downtown McKinney then you have seen all of the beautiful and interesting historic buildings that provide rich history for the 165-year-old city. And if you have not made a trip yet, now is a great time! McKinney Main Street and Historic Preservation Department now offer a fabulous and high-tech tour of these Historic Buildings, including QR code signs on downtown buildings that you can scan with your smartphone to learn more about the unique history behind them. The QR codes will take you to more information including the history of the building and historical photos. Do you know which McKinney cafe Bonnie and Clyde frequented? Take the tour to find out! It’s the newest way to find out old information.
In addition to the historic building tour there is always great shopping, dining and entertainment on the square too! Today, Downtown McKinney offers more than 100 unique shops and more than a dozen unique restaurants. Or if the tour piques your interest and you want even more historical information stroll down to the Collin County History Museum or over to Chestnut Square Historic Village.
